Death Knell is the fifth and closing track on Judiciary's Stalagmite Angels EP, due 4 September through Closed Casket Activities. The official video was filmed in the band's home state of Texas.
The EP follows a personnel change and what Judiciary have described as a hard reset. Death Knell still has the metallic edge and hardcore rhythms, but the writing feels more focused.
Inside the EP's underground setting
Stalagmite Angels imagines an underground world full of anger and hidden beauty. Vocalist Jake Collinson has cited The Descent, harsh noise and a wide range of music as influences. At its centre is the idea of using anger and self-belief to grow.
Phil Odom produced and engineered the EP, Will Putney mixed and mastered it, and Julian Bast created the artwork. Across the five tracks, the atmosphere stays claustrophobic.
