Have Heart released The Things We Carry through Bridge Nine on 8 August 2006. The label now calls it one of its defining records; the first pressing ran to 1,000 copies, with a small group of record-release editions spray-painted by the band.
Life Is Hard Enough And Watch Me Sink
Life Is Hard Enough and Watch Me Sink are fast, but Patrick Flynn's words give you something to sit with. Being strong takes work here. The guitars and gang vocals make those personal questions feel like something everyone in the room can share.
Armed With A Mind
Armed With a Mind values thought over physical dominance. In a scene often dismissed as aggression, its reflection and empathy come through just as urgently as the two-step parts.
The Things We Carry became an important record for modern youth-crew and melodic hardcore. You can hear it in later vocalists' delivery, but the part that stays with us is Flynn's willingness to question himself while sounding so committed.
