Carnifex have released ‘Licking Love From A Knife’, the latest single from More Than Misery. The album arrives on 6 November through Sumerian Records and will be the band's first full-length for the label.
Where the title track introduced the album's broader argument about living beyond pain, this song narrows the frame. Vocalist Scott Ian Lewis writes about surviving a toxic relationship and the difficult clarity that follows. He also calls it his favourite song on the record.

“A song that I hope speaks deeply to our fans that have survived toxic relationships.”

A personal song inside a wider survival record
More Than Misery is built around survival without allowing misery to become the whole story. That makes ‘Licking Love From A Knife’ more than another album preview: it gives the record's central idea a specific relationship and an aftermath.
Carnifex made the album in Tennessee over roughly five to six weeks with producer Zach Householder. Jeff Dunne mixed it. The band have described an approach that puts guitars back at the front, with orchestration used as support and arrangements written to retain their impact onstage.
The third look at More Than Misery
The single follows ‘Torn In Two’ and the title track. Together, the three songs point to an album that draws on Carnifex's first-wave deathcore instincts while using the scale and detail available to the band in 2026.
‘Licking Love From A Knife’ is streaming now. More Than Misery is available to pre-order ahead of its 6 November release.
