Vulvodynia released Twin Tyrants through Unique Leader Records on 8 September. It's their first recording with Maya Pobst, who joined in July, and our first chance to hear the six-piece lineup together.
The new voice is already part of the writing
Pobst and her partner began the lyrics together before the full band shaped the finished track. The two tyrants in the title are competing versions of the self, tied to the fight to work out who you are.
Pobst's low vocals fit right into the band's slamming sound, but her phrasing gives the track its own character. The official video keeps things simple, focusing on the band performing together.
A Standalone Single For Now
Twin Tyrants follows 2024's Entabeni, but Vulvodynia are calling it a standalone single. They've teased more news without announcing another album's title, date or tracklist.
