156/Silence released From A Distance on 4 September, their sixth album and first for Pure Noise Records. Josh Schroeder produced the twelve-song follow-up to People Watching.
Alex Reade On The Title Track
Make Them Suffer's Alex Reade features on the title track, her clean vocal offering a different perspective alongside Jack Murray. The contrast between them works well. Chris Klumpp directed the official video.
Stepping Back From People Watching
Pure Noise describes the album as a thematic companion to People Watching. Where that record examined conflict at close range, From A Distance steps back toward celebrity worship, intrusive thoughts and the unstable ways people connect. Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada and Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism also appear elsewhere on the album.
156/Silence still sound rooted in metallic hardcore here. The bigger hooks and darker sound design give the heavier parts more to work against, and we like hearing them take that further.
