The Band Isn't Always The Only Job
Many independent metalcore musicians work other jobs to keep the band going. Teaching, design, production, trades, hospitality and care work can offer stability that touring doesn't.
What fans can do
Buying directly from bands and turning up for the support acts help. So does a bit of patience when schedules change. The people on stage still have a full life to manage around the band.
