What Lies Below have signed to Solid State Records and released ‘Return To Nothing’, their first single for the label. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania quartet are Andrew Watson on vocals, Mike Watson on vocals and guitar, Sam Hart on guitar and Jonah Luteman on drums.
The timing makes the song more than a loose signing announcement. What Lies Below released I Let It Consume Me in July; ‘Return To Nothing’ is written from the other side of that record’s darkness, with the band describing a move away from grief, isolation and the accumulated weight of the past.
Also new on the Metalcore desk: Burn Eternal sign to Metal Blade.
A continuation, not a reset
The new track keeps the album in view rather than pretending the label deal starts the band from zero. Its lyrics look for the first signs of an exit, while synths and dense guitar rhythms keep the pressure intact. That tension gives the signing a clear musical point of entry: there is a new home, but the story continues from the record What Lies Below have just made.
What has — and has not — been announced
Solid State have confirmed the signing and the single. Neither the band nor the label has announced another album, EP or release date. For now, ‘Return To Nothing’ stands as the first post-album song and the first public step in the new partnership.
The track is out now on streaming services. Its official video is available through Solid State Records, and the direct Spotify release is in our Newest Releases section.
