Currents surprise-released Worlds Away, a five-track EP through SharpTone that reworks two songs from The Way It Ends and three from The Death We Seek.
This is not the standard acoustic exercise where every song is reduced to slow strumming. The arrangements still move, with actual guitar parts under Brian Wille’s clean vocals. Let Me Leave makes that clear immediately, while Kill The Ache remains the standout even without the original’s full-band weight.
The trade-off is just as interesting. Wille’s cleans expose melodies that are easier to miss in the originals, but the screams carried a rawness these versions cannot fully replace.
Worlds Away works best beside the original tracks, not instead of them.
