Northlane have released ‘Deathwish’ ahead of schedule and moved their seventh album, Anemoia, from 30 October to 27 November 2026. The band cited production delays for the change.

The release comes with a more serious touring update. Guitarist Josh Smith has been dealing with chronic health problems that Northlane say have worsened rapidly, and he now needs immediate treatment and rehabilitation. The band have not disclosed a diagnosis.

Catch up: how ‘Crucified’ set up the heavier side of Anemoia.

‘Deathwish’ closes in on one person

‘Deathwish’ is the fourth Anemoia single after ‘Evian’, ‘CUT_it’ and ‘Crucified’. Marcus Bridge describes it as a companion to ‘Crucified’: the earlier song looked at a wider social pattern, while this one is written from inside the mind of somebody who refuses to listen. The chorus briefly turns that judgement back on the narrator.

The arrangement makes that narrowing perspective feel physical. Synth layers and Bridge’s clean chorus keep pushing upwards before Northlane pull the song into a blunt final breakdown. It is less a separate stylistic detour than a tighter, more personal angle on the tension already running through ‘Crucified’.

Australia and New Zealand move to May

Northlane’s Australia and New Zealand tour will now take place in May 2027. Revised dates have not yet been announced, but existing tickets will remain valid. The Melbourne Anemoia listening party has also moved to 20 November; tickets for that event remain valid as well.

The band’s UK and European support run with Dayseeker later this year is still going ahead, including Melkweg in Amsterdam on 18 December. Northlane also confirmed that their North American headline tour early next year remains on schedule.

A later landing for Anemoia

Executive produced by Jordan Fish, Anemoia uses trance, drum and bass, jungle and pop inside Northlane’s electronic metal framework. Its ten tracks close with the title song, which features Dayseeker vocalist Rory Rodriguez.

‘Deathwish’ is out now. Anemoia follows on 27 November through Independent / Immortal Music Group, with vinyl, CD and digital pre-orders available through the band’s official campaign.
