Polaris released Without You on 3 September through SharpTone Records, their first new music since Fatalism and their first song written and released after guitarist Ryan Siew died in 2023. In Australia and New Zealand the single is distributed by ADA.

The band describe the song as the sound of loss, shock and heartache, and the start of learning how to share that experience publicly. It doesn't sound like something they have neatly worked through.

The Video Looks Back

The official video shows Jamie Hails, Rick Schneider, Jake Steinhauser and Daniel Furnari performing in an empty cathedral, cut with images from the band's past. The song pairs soaring melodies with dense guitars and a closing breakdown that offers very little relief.

There's no album announcement or new permanent lineup attached to Without You. For now, Polaris are writing again and letting us hear how much Ryan's absence is felt. That's enough to take in.
