Something Corporate released Audioboxer on 2 October 2001 through Drive-Thru Records. The six-song EP was the Orange County band's first label release.
‘If You C Jordan’, ‘Punk Rock Princess’ and ‘Hurricane’ all appeared again on Leaving Through The Window in 2002. That overlap makes Audioboxer feel like the point where the band’s piano-led pop punk identity first became public.
Andrew McMahon’s piano was never treated as decoration. It carried the verses and changed the shape of songs that still had the direct choruses and guitar movement of the Drive-Thru era.
Twenty-five years later, Something Corporate are active again with the same core lineup that recorded the EP: McMahon, Josh Partington, William Tell, Kevin Page and Brian Ireland.
