All Shall Perish released Be as Kings, Be as Gods on 4 September, ending the fifteen-year gap since This Is Where It Ends. The single is distributed through Arson Theory and arrives while the band are back on North American stages marking twenty years of The Price of Existence.
Still Recognisably All Shall Perish
The song still sounds like All Shall Perish. Fast death-metal guitar work drops into those low, abrupt breakdowns, with Eddie Hermida switching between his high and low registers. If you've missed that mid-2000s deathcore sound, there's plenty here to enjoy.
The album depends on the campaign
The band are seeking $75,000 through an all-or-nothing Kickstarter that closes on 3 October. They say the money will cover recording, production, artwork and manufacturing for their first album since 2011. A finished single makes the appeal more concrete, but the full record is not guaranteed unless the campaign reaches its target.
Zack Ohren produced and mixed the track, Nick Loiacono handled tracking, Seth Munson mastered it and Caean Stokkermans created the artwork. The single is here; whether the band can fund the full album is the next thing to watch.
